1. Validation Workshop on Labour Inspection Statistic System Study

   18 November 2013

   The Labour Inspection System (LIS) is at the core of labour administration since it ensures compliance with labour legislation. Labour Inspection services have been gaining recognition worldwide and increased support for their role within the labour relations framework. Nevertheless, in spite of their importance there is still a need for substantial quantitative information about labour inspection actions in order to improve planning and monitoring at the national level and to develop comparable studies between provincial and districts to monitor trends and good practices over time.

2. Indonesia Employment Forum

   13 - 14 November 2013

   The Forum will facilitate the exchange and cooperation among participants on current policy initiatives, good practices and promising initiatives and ideas to inform better coordinated and integrated policies for inclusive growth and jobs and to inform the next Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN 2014 – 2019).

3. The Road to the ASEAN Economic Community of 2015 and Beyond - Experts Meeting on the Changing Workplace and Employment patterns: The Challenges and Opportunities for ASEAN Employers

   7 - 8 November 2013

   ASEAN integration by 2015 is just around the corner. With the fast approaching deadline, businesses and those representing them in the ten ASEAN countries need be prepared for the free flow of goods and services as well as the unavoidable movement of labour and the challenges facing labour market integration.

4. Consultation Meeting on the Findings of the Scoping/Assessment Exercise Conducted on the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Roadmap on the Free Flow of Skilled Labour: Towards a Mutual Recognition of Skills in ASEAN

   30 September 2013

   This meeting will discuss the findings of the ILO scoping study that took stock of the developments on the ASEAN Economic Community goals of the free flow of skilled labour in the ASEAN Member States and will develop a collective Action Plan to pursue the Mutual Recognition of Skills in ASEAN. It will be attended by government representatives from ASEAN Member States and representatives from the regional workers’ and employers’ organization.

5. Capacity Building Training Workshop for the Equal Employment Opportunity Task Force

   17 - 19 September 2013

   The EEO Guidelines, which cover all forms of discrimination but focus especially on gender-based discrimination, are intended to give effect to ILO’s Equal Remuneration Convention, 1951 (No.100) and Discrimination (Employment and Occupation) Convention, 1958 (No.111), and to assist with implementation of the Manpower Act.

6. Regional Meeting on Work in Fishing: Increased Knowledge Base and Sharing Good Practices for the Protection of Migrant Workers

   12 - 13 September 2013

   This two-day regional tripartite meeting co-hosted by the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration of the Government of Indonesia and the ILO will present the international standards on work in fishing, share national policy and legislative framework among ASEAN Member States and States employing ASEAN workers, and share experiences on the protection of migrant workers in this sector in the region and around the world. The meeting will increase knowledge base and share data and research on the fishing sector and will consider recommendations for ASEAN regional partnerships and bilateral cooperation.

7. Workshop on Decent Work for Food Security

   9 - 11 September 2013

   The ILO through its SECTOR, has developed a holistic, multi-sectoral Decent Work for Food Security (DWFS) programme that works in partnership with other UN agencies and development actors to support its tripartite constituents – government, employers and workers – to give effect to their national and regional food security strategies and to achieve food security for all.

8. A Series of Trainings for Journalists: Promoting Decent Work for Domestic Workers and Elimination of Child Labour in Domestic Works

   31 August - 8 September 2013

   These series of trainings are aimed to improve journalists’ capacity in promoting decent work for domestic workers and elimination of child labour in domestic workers through mass media in Indonesia.

9. The Launch of the ILO’s Publication: “Trade and Employment: Country Report for Indonesia”

   4 - 5 July 2013

   Trade reforms and openness have a significant impact on employment, particularly in developing countries. As Indonesia's economy has become increasingly dependent on trade, the impact of trade on employment in Indonesia is a subject of great interest but also major concern for the country.

10. Commemorating the World Day Against Child Labour 2013 in Indonesia

    10 - 17 June 2013

    The ILO through its Decent Work for Domestic Workers to End Child Domestic Work (PROMOTE) Project, funded by the United States Department of Labour (USDOL), and the Child Labour and Education Project, funded by the Government of Netherlands, will conduct a series of activities to commemorate the World Day at the national level in Indonesia.

11. ASEAN Forum on Youth Employment: Effective Youth Employment Policies and Programmes for Better Employability of Young People

    13 May 2013

    The youth employment challenge has its own dimensions regardless of their stage of socio-economic development. The underlying problems are the large number of young people entering the labour markets every year, the lack of employment opportunities in particular in poor economies and post-conflict countries, and the low quality of education and training without a proper link to the labour markets.

12. The Launch of the ILO’s Publication on Labour Migration, “10 Years of Work on Labour Migration in Indonesia”

    8 May 2013

    As an effort to provide better protection and recognition to Indonesian migrant domestic workers, the International Labour Organization (ILO), in collaboration with SmartFM Network, a leading radio station in Jakarta, will organize an interactive talkshow titled “Optimizing the Protection of Migrant Workers through Bilateral and Multilateral Agreements” on Wednesday, 8 May 2013, at FX Lifestyle X’nter in Jakarta.

    A one-day IGEP Forum will be organized in Jakarta to promote and advocate green entrepreneurship to relevant stakeholders in Indonesia.
