  1. Workshop on Mainstreaming Child Labour through Education Programme in Tangerang District

    The International effort to achieve education for all and the progressive elimination of child labour are still challenges. On the one hand, quality education is a key element in preventing child labour and contributes to building a protective environment for all children. On the other hand, child labour is one of the main obstacles to full-time school attendance and in the case of some part time work, may prevent children from fully benefiting from their time at school.

  2. Bipartite training on labour rights and workplace cooperation

    The training programme will equip workers and employers at the workplace level with tools to successfully implement social dialogue and collective bargaining in their working lives.

  3. Training of Trainers on Financial Education

    The Mentawai Islands Livelihoods Recovery Programme aims at supporting the recovery of the productive economy in among households of Pagai Utara (North Pagai) and Pagai Selatan (South Pagai) affected by the 2010 earthquake and tsunami through supporting recovery of the agriculture and fisheries sectors, facilitating entrepreneurship and small scale home businesses, and strengthening the local government’s efforts in strategic planning and monitoring of the overall recovery efforts including basic service provision and access to clean water.

  4. Regional Meeting on Increasing Productivity through Enhancing the Safety and Health of Migrant Workers

    The mobility of professionals in the ASEAN region is expected to increase significantly with the realization of the ASEAN Economic Community’s (AEC) Blueprint for the free flow of skilled labour by 2015. Increased efforts will be needed to ensure that robust regulatory frameworks are in place across the region when the AEC is scheduled to commence in 2015

  5. Identifying and Investigating Cases of Child Labour and Forced Labour: Training for Law Enforcement and Other Key Partners in Timor-Leste

    Effective labour inspection, as a main part of labour administration, is vital in ensuring that the principles of international labour standards, including the elimination of child labour and forced labour, are implemented at the enterprise level and in promoting good governance in the world of work, making Decent Work a reality.

  6. The Commemoration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work: Promoting Occupational Safety and Health at the Small and Medium Enterprises in Indonesia

  7. Video Screening on disability inclusion for UN Agencies staff UNPRPD – Indonesia

    The main objectives of the video screening is to raise better awareness of staff members of UN Agencies staff on disability rights, especially on barriers faced in accessing employment, sharing of experience of those already at workplace, accessibility and the expectation from the side of persons with disabilities.

  8. Collective Bargaining, Wage Policy and Productivity in Indonesia: Roles and Responsibilities

    During June-July 2012, the ILO conducted a diagnostic process on freedom of association and collective bargaining rights in the export processing sector in Indonesia. On this basis, a national plan of action 2013 – 2015 on freedom of association and collective bargaining rights in the export sector in Indonesia has been developed by the tripartite constituents.

  10. Financial Education Training of Trainer

    The Project provides financial education training to them. A training package (modules) on financial education that specific addressing to those target groups is required. The MAMPU Project therefore adapted the financial education module based on migrant workers activities into the specific needs of MAMPU beneficiaries such as “women homeworkers”.

  11. Work Improvement at Small Construction Sites (WISCON) Training of Trainers Workshop

    As part of the overall effort in Indonesia to strengthen safety and health at work in the country and in particularly in the construction industry, the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration (MOMT) has requested the ILO to support them in launching the Work Improvement at Small Construction Sites (WISCON) approach, which is a training approach specifically targeting small construction companies.

    The ASEAN Secretariat in cooperation with the ILO will host a tripartite workshop on 16-18 December in Jakarta to discuss actions to accelerate the elimination of the worst forms of child labour in ASEAN. The workshop is pursuant to the adoption of the ASEAN Roadmap on the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour last November at the 5th SLOM Working Group on Progressive Labour Practices, and a direct follow up to the recent 3rd Global Conference on Child Labour held in Brasilia in October. Focussing on the five policy areas which are articulated as priorities in the ASEAN Roadmap – education, social protection, labour market policy, knowledge and data, national legislation and enforcement – the workshop will be an opportunity to (1) share and reflect on country-level initiatives, progress and challenges and, (2) to discuss strategies, actions and priorities for accelerating efforts. Special attention will be given to how inter-sectoral linkages and coordination can be better developed between relevant ASEAN Regional bodies and ministerial areas.

  3. The Launch of the Disability Participatory Video Diaries - SAME: Spaces, Opportunities and Treatment for Persons with Disabilities

    The ILO in collaboration with Kampung Halaman Foundation will launch two video diaries on disability on the rights to employment and public accessibility. The first of its kinds, the video diaries capture the plight and voices of persons with disabilities from their own perspectives.

  4. Decent Work Programming for the Nusa Tenggara Timur Medium Term Provincial Development Workshop

One element of the province programme that need to be enhanced is in the creation of decent jobs for the province in order to create productive and sustainable development.

  5. VCT@Work National Launch

    The International Labour Organization (ILO), in collaboration with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), has launched an initiative to reach 5 million workers worldwide with voluntary and confidential HIV counseling and testing (VCT@WORK) by 2015.

  6. ILO-GLACIER National Knowledge Sharing Workshop

    The ILO Office for Indonesia and Timor-Leste has implemented an innovative pilot project called Green Livelihood Access for Central Kalimantan’s Inclusive Environmental Response to climate change (GLACIER), funded by Norway through the Institutional Preparation Task Force of the Republic of Indonesia for Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (SATGAS REDD+) and UNDP in the Central Kalimantan pilot province.

  8. 6th ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour

    The 6th ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour is scheduled to take place on 26 and 27 November 2013 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. The ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour (AFML) is an open platform for review, discussion and exchange of best practices and ideas between governments, workers’ and employers’ organizations, and civil society stakeholders on key issues facing migrant workers in South-East Asia, and develop recommendations to advance the implementation of the principles of the ASEAN Declaration on Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers.

  9. Employment Targets and Projections: A Technical Workshop on Methodologies

    Employment projection models are important analytical tools to monitor progress towards employment targets, including both the quantity and quality of employment. Such models also allow for assessment of the labour market impacts of economic or policy shocks. Furthermore, employment projections models can be used to project long-term sectoral and occupational employment, and thus can be used to address skills mismatch and inform educational and training reforms that may be required.
