To support the realization of job rich growth, it is important that medium term development strategies plan for job creation. Using models to establish employment projections are an important part of planning for employment.

Sensitization Workshop on Employment Social Security Programme

The commitment to social protection is reflected in the Indonesian constitution (1945) that translated to the National Social Security Law (Law No. 40/ 2004) and the Law on Social Security Providers (Law No.24/ 2011) as well as, recurrent at the Tripartite Indonesian Job Pacts (2011-2014) adopting the recommendation for ratification the ILO Convention 102 on Minimum Standard of Social Security and universal coverage for social security.

ASEAN Labour Inspection Conference 2014

Meeting of Indonesia Multi Donor Fund Facility for Disaster Recovery (IMDFF-DR) Secretariat

IMDFF-DR is a facility built by the Indonesia government with the development partners in order to support the disaster management according to the Law Number 24 Year 2007. The facility is geared to prepare the necessary steps for IMDFF-DR to function as gap filler, catalytic support and complement government program in disaster management.

Minimum wage has always been a difficult, complex and controversial question in Indonesia and in many developing countries in the world. Achieving a balance between the economic and social objectives of minimum wage setting is a continuing challenge for policy makers, employers and workers. Employers are concerned about ability to pay and unions and activists about maintaining decent standards of living for workers. Policy makers must balance the demands of maintaining a wage floor for workers on the one hand, and the potential employment or inflation effects of wage setting on the other.

In line with the Indonesia’s policy direction adopting universal coverage for social protection by implementing the universal health coverage, the Government of Indonesia lead by the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, now is developing Employment Social Security scheme that would revisit the current schemes of Death, Working Injury and Lump-sum old age benefit in which to be extended by pension programme through releasing number of its implementing regulations commencing 1st July 2015.

The Commemoration of the World Day against Child Labour: Say no to child labour in Timor-Leste

Timor-Leste as one of the youngest nations of the world has been actively engaged in combating child labour and fostering primary universal education not only in the capital city, Dili, but also in the rural areas. The Government of Timor-Leste is committed to focusing its attention on implementing activities and measures to eradicate practices that violate the rights of children, such as early marriages, child labour, and other types of exploitation, including domestic violence and sexual abuse.

Kick-off Workshop on Rural Roads Master Plan for Timor-Leste

The development of a Rural Roads Master Plan (RRMP) is one of the key outputs of R4D. Once finalized, the RRMP will be the main document for the Government of Timor-Leste to guide investments in the rural roads, in line with the priorities and aspirations of all concerned stakeholders. The value of the RRMP will reach well beyond the operations of the Ministry of Public Works.

Launch of the Second Phase of SCORE Programme

Based on the successful implementation of the first phase of the Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) programme, the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, together with trade unions and employers’ organizations, will launch the second phase of SCORE programme in Jakarta. Supported by the International Labour Organization (ILO), the launch also marks the national adoption of the SCORE’s programme.

SCORE National Tripartite Steering Committee Meeting
