A short video message from the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E M. Hanif Dhakiri on the New alliance against forced labour, modern slavery, human trafficking and child labour. The video message was screened during the Sub-regional consultation workshop on achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target 8.7 held in Bangkok, Thailand, in mid of September 2016. The outcome of this regional consultation will feed into the launch of the Global Alliance 8.7 in New York in September 2016, and into the 4th Global Conference on Child Labour in Buenos Aires in 2017.

She’s kept her job, is receiving treatment, and with her manager supporting her, Yohana says she’s lucky. This public service announcement of the ILO is produced under the voluntary counselling and testing for workers ‒ the VCT@WORK Initiative.

This year’s World Day against Child Labour is marked by a focus on child labour and supply chains. Taking the theme: “End Child Labour in Supply Chains”, the ILO, in collaboration with the US Embassy in Jakarta, is organising an event on Wednesday, 8 June 2016, at @America, Jakarta, to increase awareness on the existence of the child labour in both production of goods and services for domestic markets and exports.
