  1. ILO team up with Vocational Center of BBPLK-Bekasi to increase women labour participation in STEM-related fields

    Indonesian female workers are more likely to be employed in an occupation at high risk of automation across all industries. The ILO has teamed up with National Vocational Training Development Centre to increase women participation at work fields related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

  2. Towards more integrated OSH programmes

    The ILO initiated an occupational safety and health (OSH) consultative meeting with its relevant social partners. By sharing OSH knowledge, programmes, lessons learnt and challenges, the ILO and its social partners could develop stronger workplace prevention culture.

    The ILO country Office for Indonesia led by the Country Director, Michiko Miyamoto, had a courtesy visit to Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

  4. Strengthening the roles of Indonesian OSH Council to provide better protection for young workers

    The participation of Indonesian youth in promoting OSH is crucial. About half the 130 million population is under the age of 30 and many of them work in sectors with a high risk of workplace accidents and disease, such as the construction sector. The ILO assisted the Indonesian OSH Council (DK3N) to strengthen its young workers’ task force so that youth have a greater voice in national OSH policy deliberations.

  5. Sharing lessons learnt in promoting evidence-based wages fixing and collective bargaining in the garment sector

    The Labour Standards in Global Supply Chains (LSGSC) came to an end in March 2019, and contributed to promoting evidence-based minimum wage fixing and wage policy development and interest-based collective bargaining in the garment sector in Indonesia.

    To commemorate the 2018 World AIDS Day, the ILO together with its social partners have joined forces to conduct and implement a series of commitments and programmes regarding the importance of knowing your status and the implementation of the non-discriminatory policy at the workplace.

  4. Established, a trade union network for fostering social dialogue in Indonesia palm oil industry

    Indonesia is one of the biggest producers of palm oil in the world. Trade unions federations in the palm oil sector initiated the establishment of the Indonesia Palm Oil Trade Union Network to promote social dialogue as means to realize decent work in this sector.
