Press release | Jakarta, Indonesia | 18 February 2015
JAKARTA (ILO News) - The International Labour Organization (ILO) will host a country-level meeting for Indonesia in Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta from 24-25 February in preparation for the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) 2015 Integration Segment in New York at the end of March, around the theme of "Achieving Sustainable Development through Employment Creation and Decent Work for All".

Given Indonesia's leadership in the promotion of sustainable development, the meeting will be an opportunity to consolidate lessons learned and provide policy recommendations from Indonesia. These discussions and recommendations will then be brought to the meeting in New York, and will help in shaping the UN's post-2015 development agenda to be adopted at a global summit in September.

The two-day event will feature sessions on a range of topics that include the green economy, income inequality, skills development, pensions, rural and regional development, and migrant workers. The meeting will be opened by Minister of Manpower, Muhamad Hanif Dhakiri, Regional Director of ILO for Asia and the Pacific, Tomoko Nishimoto, UN Resident Coordinator Douglas Broderick and ECOSOC Vice-President Vladimir Drobnjak.
