Project for the Livelihood Restoration, Protection and Sustainable Empowerment of Vulnerable Peasant Communities in Sindh Province (Project fact sheet)

The project fact sheet outlines the objectives, outcomes, major activities and other related information of One UN project ‘Livelihood Restoration, Protection and Sustainable Empowerment of Vulnerable Peasant Communities in the Sindh Province’. Government of Sindh steered the project which was jointly delivered between 2013-2016 by ILO, FAO and UN Women.

With funding from the Human Security Trust Fund (UN-HSTF), the ILO in Pakistan is implementing a UN Joint Program on livelihood restoration in collaboration with FAO and UN Women in the Province of Sindh. This project was designed in response to the July 2010 monsoon rains which flooded a significant part of Pakistan with Sindh Province being hardest hit. The UN Joint program aims to restore and protect the livelihoods of the vulnerable rural population in Sindh by improving their on-farm productive capacities and off-farm income generating activities.
