Launch of Skills Training programme for Livelihood Restoration of Fire Victims in Karachi

ILO Pakistan, Department of Labour, Sindh and Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters' Association have jointly launched a skills training programme for the victims of the September factory fires in Karachi.

ILO Pakistan, Department of Labour, Sindh and Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters' Association have jointly launched a skills training programme for the victims of the September factory fires in Karachi. The training course is designed based on the findings of a Rapid Needs Analysis conducted of 250 victims' families that showed that about 100 people were interested training for employment in the garment manufacturing sector. Potential trainees have registered for three courses; garment manufacturing, supervisory and quality control. The courses will use ILO's competency based curriculum.
