    Innovative solutions are crucial to address child labour and to promote decent work in small-scale gold mines. The ILO Caring Gold Project, funded by the United States Department of Labor, and implemented with BAN Toxics, will launch the Compassionate Gold brand in partnership with the Philippine Fashion Week. Compassionate Gold ensures responsible mining practices.

  6. SHIELD Against Child Labour Writeshop

    3 - 5 August 2017

    The ILO and DSWD will hold a writeshop to develop key messages, strategies and products aimed at raising awareness on child labour. The writeshop will include storybooks, flyers, briefers, flow charts and primer under the Strategic Helpdesks for Information, Education, Livelihood and other Developmental Interventions (SHIELD) against Child Labour project.

    The National Child Labor Committee (NCLC) will mark the World Day against Child Labour in the Philippines in a concert featuring songs, dances and poems on child labour in line with the global theme “In conflicts and disasters, protect children from child labour”.

  9. Commemoration of World Day Against Child Labour (WDACL) organized by the Labour and Human Resource Department, Government of Punjab

    Large number of government officials, representatives of employers, workers, NGOs, civil society along with children and their who are beneficiaries of Punjab Government’s schemes participated. The Project Director, Punjab Integrated project while sharing the progress informed that the project will be launched in all 36 districts of the Punjab Province. The Country Director, ILO Office for Pakistan appreciated government’s efforts and indicated that a lot more needs to be done, yet. Punjab Minister for Labour assured continuation government commitment till the Punjab is child labour free.

  10. Joint event with UNICEF and Children Commissioner’s office to mark the World Day against Child Labour

    The event was organized jointly with UNICEF and the Children Commissioner’s office. Mrs Raheela Durrani, speaker of Balochistan Assembly and Mr. Salman Faruqi, Federal Ombudsman appreciated the provincial governments for enacting child labour laws, though, they pointed out the need for harmonizing the legislation and better enforcement thereof.

This event takes place during the 106th Session of the International Labour Conference, and is organized by the ILO in collaboration with the United Nations Office, Geneva and Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto.

  14. SHIELD against child labour partnership agreement and project orientation

    The ILO supports the Strategic Helpdesks for Information, Education, Livelihood and other Developmental Interventions (SHIELD) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development to address child labour in Camarines Norte, where a signing of a partnership agreement and discussion on the initiative will be held.
