School play “Another Side of Life” to mark the World Day Against Child Labour

School children from the Collège du Léman will be performing a play on child labour - "Another Side of Life."

The school play “Another Side of Life” was developed entirely by young students from the Collège du Léman. The play is part of a Middle school-wide initiative to raise awareness on child labour based on the SCREAM – Supporting Children’s Rights through Education, the Arts and the Media – programme, developed by the ILO’s International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour. Earlier in the year, the school organised a child labour awareness week. It resulted in long debates and creative artwork using materials linked to the reality of child labour, such as sugar and cocoa. They also used their creative writing skills to develop this play on child labour, translating into words the suffering of millions of children.
