The Governing Body of the ILO decided on 3 April, through a vote by correspondence, to defer the 109th Session of the International Labour Conference to 2021.
The decision was taken on the recommendation of the Director-General of the International Labour Office taking into account the severe restrictions on travel and personal interaction in place in all regions, and the need to give utmost priority to the health and well-being of everyone.
As a consequence of this decision:
- the associated 338bis and 339th Sessions of the Governing Body, scheduled for 25 May and 6 June 2020 respectively, are cancelled;
- the Programme and Budget proposals for 2022–23 will be placed on the agenda of the 109th Session of the Conference in line with the two-year cycle of ILO financial exercises.
