Normative Stock-taking for Decent Work in Viet Nam

This report sets out the context for engaging the ILO’s tripartite constituents – the Government of Viet Nam, employers’ and workers organizations – and development partners and stakeholders in deciding decent work priorities that are well informed and anchored in the use and application of international standards.

The report analyses the country context, normative and social dialogue landscape, drivers of normative interest, and offers the Government and social partners for their consideration in deciding priorities in the soon-to-come Decent work Country Programme, as well as the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. Several specific areas of international labour standards are proposed to be considered for the normative work of domestic integration and implementation through policy, law and operations of the government, with the social and development partners in Viet Nam, and ultimately ratification by the Government of Viet Nam.
