The ILO Country Office for Viet Nam operates a wide range of programmes and projects. Details of each programme and project can be found below.

2011

  1. Joint Programme on Green Production and Trade to Increase Income and Employment Opportunities for the Rural Poor

    1 January 2010 - 31 December 2011

    The objective of this project is to develop better integrated, pro-poor, and environmentally sustainable ‘green’ value chains, enabling poor growers, collectors and producers to improve their products and link to more profitable markets. The targeted sector is handicrafts and small scale furniture, focusing on 4 value chains: bamboo and rattan, sericulture; sea grass; lacquer ware; and handmade paper.

  2. Support to Industrial Relations and Labour Code Reform in Vietnam

    1 January 2010 - 31 December 2011

    The ILO works in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Vietnam Cooperation Alliance (VCA), and National Assembly, to support industrial relations and labour code reform in Viet Nam.

  3. Microfinance Support Programme Viet Nam

    1 January 2010 - 31 December 2011

    This project is funded by Cordaid and promotes low income household's access to microfinance services, including savings facilities and microinsurance.

  4. Effective Implementation of National OSH Programme for Improving Safety and Health at the Workplace in Viet Nam

    1 January 2009 - 1 December 2011

    The project contributes to implementing Decent Work Country Programmes (DWCP) and National OSH Programme through realization of safe and healthy workplaces and communities, and productive workplace environment in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and poverty reduction in the community level. The project is implemented in cooperation with WHO to promote One-UN Policy.

  1. Labour Market Information Project "Better Information for Creating Jobs and Developing Skills in Viet Nam"

    1 January 2008 - 1 December 2010

    Supports the design and development of a labour market information system in key provinces, to improve the institutional capacity for human resources development planning, and to support the improved quality and relevance of skills training.
