Events and meetings

The ILO Country Office for Viet Nam organizes and takes part in a number of events and meetings. Below is a list of upcoming and past events. Any queries should be sent to the office by email.

May 2017

  1. MOLISA/ILO/KISA/ASEAN-OSHNET - INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON OSH "Promote Occupational Safety and Health in the informal sector"

    4 - 5 May 2017

    The conference, to be held on 4-5 May 2017 in Ha Noi, is among a series of meaningful activities in response to the Month of OSH launched by the Government of Vietnam for the first time on 06 May 2017 in Ha Noi. Also, this is in support to the World Day on OSH (28 April) and the International Labour Day (01 May).

  3. Knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) survey about child labour

    1 May - 31 July 2017

    In order to develop the awareness raising strategies and campaigns, a baseline knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) survey concerning child labor will be conducted at the beginning of the implementation of the ENHANCE Project and repeated by the end of the Project to measure the changes in the knowledge, attitudes and practices of the project target groups at the result of the intervention.

  2. Launch the Labour Inspection Campaign aimed at further enhancing corporate social responsibility and improving conditions of work at the electronics enterprises

    18 - 19 April 2017

    This year, MOLISA in partnership with the workers' (VGCL) and employers' organizations (VCCI) will be launching a labour inspection campaign with an aim to raising the awareness of corporate social responsibility and improving labour law compliance among the electronics enterprises.

  3. The Publication Workshop: Fourth-year Evaluation of Recruitment Agencies’ Compliance with the VAMAS Code of Conduct

    This workshop is to recognize and publicize the rating (evaluation) of 88 recruitment agencies’ compliance with the VAMAS’s Code of Conduct.

  4. Workshop on statistics for informal economy

    5 April 2017

    With the collaboration of the General Statistics Office of Viet Nam (GSO) and the Institute of Labour Science and Social Affairs (ILSSA), the event is organized with the aim to facilitate discussions between the main stakeholders to build a consensus about the main characteristics of informal employment in Viet Nam.

  1. Dissemination workshop: ILO's study on improving social security inspection

    31 March 2017

    The ILO/Japan Project “Extending social security in ASEAN” (ESSA) project provides direct support for Viet Nam to conduct a policy-oriented study aimed at enhancing the social security inspection with the view of improving compliance of social security laws for an increased social insurance coverage. Based on this study, recommendations for improving social security inspections in Viet Nam were identified and will be shared for discussion with national stakeholders.

  2. National high-level workshop on Extension of Social Security Coverage in Vietnam

    29 March 2017

    The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) of Viet Nam requested ILO’s technical support to develop the Master Plan on Social Insurance Reform (MPSIR). ILO has agreed with MOLISA to co-organize a high-level policy dialogue workshop on extension of social protection coverage, with the participants from senior leader of the Government, MOLISA, related national stakeholders, development partners, and research institute.

  3. Piloting promoting protection of labour rights of venu-based entertainment workers - Review and M&E workshop

    29 - 30 March 2017

    A two day workshop in Hanoi for government officials of Departments of Social Vices Prevention and Control and worker peer educators from HCMC, Hue, Can Tho, Tuyen Quang, and Quang Ninh to review the pilot implementation and discuss indicators for monitoring and evaluation.

  4. The Project Advisory Committee Meeting (PAC)

    28 March 2017

    ILO partners with the Department of Overseas Labour (DOLAB) to hold a PAC meeting to give tripartite plus implementing partners and stakeholders in Viet Nam the opportunity to provide inputs and validate the proposed strategic plan of action for the implementation of TRIANGLE II in 2017.

  5. Training workshop on administration of social protection programmes

    27 - 30 March 2017

    This is an activity under the framework of ILO – Irish Aid Partnership programme: Inclusive Growth, Social Protection and Jobs. The training workshop is to enable participants to develop a thorough understanding of the essential principles that promote and support good administration practices for social protection programmes in Viet Nam.

  6. Inspection functions and operation

    24 March 2017

    The tripartite workshop to review the implementation of Decree 39/2013/ND-CP in Labour Inspection functions and operation. The workshop is to be held in Ha Noi on 24 March 2017.

  7. Workshop on renovating core tasks of grassroots trade unions and upper level trade unions

    2 March 2017

    This workshop will focus on the main topic about renovating core tasks of grass-root trade unions and immediate upper level union

    The event focuses on occupational safety and health issues and is an activity of the SafeYouth@Work project.

  2. Training of trainers on management for agricultural cooperatives

    13 - 17 February 2017

    The five-day training on 13-17 February in Hanoi aims to introduce MyCoop - an ILO training manual to support the development of cooperatives in Viet Nam.

  1. The second Meeting of the SafeYouth@Work Project Steering Committee in Viet Nam

    The Project Steering Committee (PSC) is a group of the key tripartite partners and stakeholders responsible for providing guidance on the implementation of the SafeYouth@Work project. The Second Project Steering Committee Meeting of SafeYouth@Work is to be held on 18 Jan 2017 in Ha Noi review the progress of the project and discuss project implementation in 2017.

  2. ENHANCE project Baseline Survey

    From December 2016 to May 2017, ENHANCE project is conducting a baseline survey to provide inputs for designing project activities as well as the benchmarks to estimate the level of change caused by the project interventions.

  1. Training of Trainers on “Understanding About Child Labour”

    18 - 23 December 2016

    A training of trainers (TOT) course for selected staff of the concerned partner/stakeholder agencies, mainly at the central who potentially become master trainers on child labour will be conducted.

  2. Future of work policy dialogue: How will Viet Nam address changing technologies and skills needs in the labour market?

    13 December 2016

    To support Viet Nam in identifying current gaps and getting prepared for the changes in the world of work, the ILO joins hands with the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to organize the national policy dialogue on future of work with a focus on the role of technologies and skills issues in electronics and garment industries.
