Events and meetings

The ILO Country Office for Viet Nam organizes and takes part in a number of events and meetings. Below is a list of upcoming and past events. Any queries should be sent to the office by email.

March 2018

  1. VGCL/NIRF Review Meeting for 2017 and Planning for 2018

    27 - 28 March 2018

    The main objective of the assignment is to conduct a review on VGCL/NIRF collaborative activities and achievements in 2017, as well as to develop and reach consensus on the workplan for 2018

  2. Planning workshop for establishment of human resource club in tourism sector in Da Nang and discussion on social insurance issues

    20 March 2018

    The main objective of the assignment is to facilitate the establishment of a HR Club in tourism sector in Da Nang and facilitate a platform for discussions on social insurance issues which exert direct impacts on businesses and workers.

  3. Advocacy meetings with ILO child labour specialists, Viet Nam Government and Viet Nam Committee for Children

    20 - 24 March 2018

    The activity will be organized from 20 March to 24 March with the aim to support in the revision of the Labour Code and preparation for conducting the National Child Labour Survey 2018

  1. The Meeting for the Development of the Workplan to Implement the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) - Malaysia Trade Union Congress (MTUC) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

  2. Midterm Evaluation National Stakeholder Workshop

    2 February 2018

    A national stakeholder workshop in Hanoi will be organized on 2nd February 2018 to share the preliminary findings with the ILO and national stakeholders at the end of mid term evaluation field visits.

  1. Sub-regional consultation workshop on the SafeYouth@Work action plan

    23 - 25 January 2018

    The workshop aims to increase commitments of key stakeholders from targeted countries to implement concrete actions envisaged by the SafeYouth@Work Action Plan.

  1. The first Dialogue on Occupational Safety and Health of the OSH National Council

    15 December 2017

    The dialogue is a forum where relevant state management agencies, employers’ and workers’ representatives discuss and contribute ideas to the better implementation and improvement of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation system in Viet Nam. In addition, the Dialogue will help to enhance mutual understanding among relevant stakeholders and build capacity on OSH regulations.

  2. Training on Occupational Safety and Health for Workers’ organizations Da Nang, 13-16 November 2017

    13 - 16 December 2017

    The training equips officials from workers’ organizations with updated Law and regulations on OSH and related guidance as well as the roles and operation of OSH committee at workplace. In addition, the trainees are also provided with knowledge on risks assessment in SME, especially in construction sector.

  3. Launch of ENHANCE Project Direct Beneficiaries Monitoring and Reporting (DBMR) system

    1 December 2017 - 31 March 2018

    Through intensive consultations with the participation of the PMU, key provincial stakeholders and relevant partners, the ILO ENHANCE project have developed the Comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation Plan (CMEP) including the overall approach and description on the development and operation of a Direct Beneficiary Monitoring and Reporting (DBMR) system that will help the project to identify the beneficiaries, refer them to services and monitor their progress from the time of baseline survey to the end of the project.

  1. Launch of World Social Protection Report in Viet Nam

    30 November 2017

    The report provides a global overview on recent trends in social protection systems, including social protection floors and a broad range of global, regional and country analysis on social protection coverage, benefits and public expenditures on social protection.

  2. Training course on Occupational and health safety for tea farmers Phu Tho, November- December 2017

    29 - 30 November 2017

    The training is designed to support farmers, especially young farmers in tea sector in Son Hung, Huong Lung and Dong Luong communes of Phu Tho province to identify hazards and risks in working and propose appropriate preventive measures.

  3. High-level Dialogue on social security reform in Viet Nam

    29 November 2017

    To resume the results gained from the 1st dialogue workshop in March 2017, a second one is organized to discuss on options for expanding social security, including social insurance on 29 November 2017.

  4. The 2017 Viet Nam Industrial Relations Forum

    22 November 2017

    The 2017 Viet Nam Industrial Relations Forum, jointly organized by the Government, VCCI, VGCL and ILO, offers an opportunity for tripartite partners and stakeholders to assess the situation and challenges, to reflect on progresses made in the past year, and to jointly identify ways forwards.

  5. Study visit to the Philippines

    21 - 24 November 2017

    Under ILO ENHANCE project framework, in close collaboration with the ILO Office in the Philippines is going to organize a study visit to the Philippines from 21 to 24 November 2017.

  6. Applying the G20 training strategy introductory workshop (Phase 2)

    21 November 2017

    On 21 November 2017, G20 Project in cooperation with Department of Vocational and Educational Department, MOLISA organize a half day workshop to introduce about the Phase 2 of the Project, to and to discuss about the establishment of the National Project Steering Committee.

  7. Labour and social trends in Viet Nam 2012-2017

    16 November 2017

    The workshop is inscribed in the context of the MoU launching between ILO/ ILSSA on "strenghtening capacities for undertaking research works for evidence-based policy making for the period 2017-2021".

  8. Consultation Workshop On Standard Contract For Domestic Work In Viet Nam

    10 November 2017

    In order to introduce draft contract to key stakeholders for feedback, on both the content and on ideas for dissemination, Bureau of Industrial Relations and Wage, GFCD and ILO will host a consultation workshop for tripartite constituents and stakeholders. The workshop will also aim to validate the draft contract and bring out new perspectives on the following steps in the path of decent work for domestic workers.

  9. Eighth Tripartite Regional Seminar on Industrial Relations in the ASEAN Region

    8 - 9 November 2017

    The event focuses on the theme of “Promoting sound industrial relations through social dialogue and implications of changing forms of employment for industrial relations in the ASEAN region”

  1. Improving productivity for integration into global supply chains

    Since 2011, 91 per cent of enterprises participating in the SCORE project have reported production cost saving, 61 per cent improved work place communication, 29 per cent reduced defect rate and 42 per cent lowered labour turnover.
