Baseline Survey, Knowledge, Attitude and Practices Survey, Technical Capacity and Institutional Needs Assessment, Value Chain Analysis, Occupational Safety and Health Risk Assessments and Mass Media and Communication Assessment
From September 2016 to February 2017, ENHANCE project is planning to conduct baseline activities in order to better understand the situation and identify the needs of national and local beneficiaries such as children, youth, parents, workers, employers, governments, local community members, civil organizations and media. The project will also identify available resources, existing service providers and potential economic opportunities for the target communities as well as capacity and financial gaps to address the local needs. Baseline activities include the Baseline Survey, the Knowledge, Attitude and Practices Survey (KAP Survey), Technical Capacity and Institutional Needs Assessment (TCINA), Value Chain Analysis, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Risk Assessments and Mass Media and Communication Assessment. These activities will be initiated from September 2016 and are expected to be completed by February 2017. Findings of the baseline activities will be used to set a strong foundation for development of project intervention and programming.
4. Mass media and communication assessment: It is the first time ever, a media and communication assessment on child labour will be conducted which will provide in depth information on the types, channels, programmes, availability, coverage and effectiveness of communication and public awareness raising efforts on child labour to assess the feasibility and provide recommendation for ENHANCE’s public awareness raising strategies.
5. TICNA assessment: Using an innovative approach, TICNA assessment will apply SWOT analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses/gaps, opportunities and threats in technical and institutional capacity of the key stakeholder organizations in order to effectively design the project stakeholders’ capacity building programme. The information from the assessment will provide the ENHANCE project with information to effectively design various target capacity building initiatives including training subject and content, and training materials.
6. Value chains analysis: an in-depth analysis on priority handicraft value chains in the project operational areas will be conducted. This analysis will provide insight into a wide range of areas for interventions, including work safety, skills development, gender equality and entrepreneurship development, cooperative management, product design, and market linkages in order to help ENHANCE and local household to develop better integrated, pro-poor, sustainable value chains through improving their productivity and competitiveness and working conditions…
