HANOI (ILO News) – Viet Nam’s national football team striker Le Cong Vinh today holds up his Red Card and join ILO cause against child labour.

The football star’s action is part of the ILO global Red Card to Child Labour campaign which kicks off at the opening of the 2014 FIFA World Cup on 12 June.

“Cong Vinh is proud to be part of this campaign, which aims to help 168 million children in child labour around the world,” he said.

“Child labour deprives children of their childhood, potential and dignity, and is harmful to their physical and mental development.”
