As Viet Nam has become a signatory of the Free Trade Agreement with 28 country members of EU, the continued ratification of ILO’s fundamental conventions has strongly proven Viet Nam’s approach to better implementation of Chapter 13 of this Agreement. In Article 13.4 on Multilateral Labour Standards and Agreements (Chapter 13 - Trade and Sustainable Development), it mentions the Parties shall reaffirms their commitments to “promote and effectively implement the principles concerning the fundamental rights at work” among which elimination of all forms of forced or compulsory labour is listed.

On 8 June 2020, the National Assembly of Viet Nam issued Decision No. 104/2020/QH14 to ratify ILO’s Abolition of Forced Labour Convention, 1957 (No. 105).

Viet Nam’s Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, together with the ILO under the framework of the Trade for Decent Work project funded by the EU, developed this clip to introduce the content of two ILO Conventions on the topic and relevant Vietnamese laws.
