ILO Viet Nam welcomes new leadership

The new Director, Ingrid Christensen, starts her office term on 1 April 2022.

HANOI (ILO News) – The ILO Country Office for Viet Nam is now under the leadership of its new Country Director, Ingrid Christensen, who started her office term on 1 April 2022.

The Danish national has been holding different positions at the ILO as well as in the Danish Government. Her latest appointment was ILO Country Director for Pakistan from 2016 to 2022. Prior to that, she was ILO Senior Specialist on Occupational Safety and Health in the Asia and Pacific Region, and also served as Officer-in-Charge in Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

“I look forward to this new, exciting assignment as Viet Nam is an important member of the ILO,” she said. “I believe that in the years to come, together with our constituents – the Government, workers’ and employers’ organizations, we will make major steps forwards in our path to bringing decent work to all Vietnamese women and men.”

The new head of ILO Viet Nam holds a master’s degree in pharmacy from the Royal Danish School of Pharmacy.
