Multinational enterprises, development and decent work: An annotated bibliography on the application of the Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy

This annotated bibliography provides a succinct overview of the significant amount of research, analysis, and guidance documents on the activities of multinational enterprises (MNEs) that has been published by the ILO and others from 2005 to 2015. The publication presents a solid collection of works relevant to the ILO MNE Declaration and provides a range of information on labour and employment issues to parties interested in translating the principles of the Declaration into action. It will be of interest to ILO constituents, ILO staff members and researchers who deal with issues related to investment, MNEs and decent work. Those interested in MNEs, CSR, the role of the private sector in development and FDI more broadly, may also find this bibliography useful in their work.

A just transition for all: Can the past inform the future?

2015 is a decisive year for global agreements on Sustainable Development and climate change. The ILO calls for a just transition for all towards a greener and more socially sustainable economy. This Journal is focussing on drawing lessons from a few transition experiences in order to analyse how successfully (or not) these processes were managed in the past and how future transitions might be handled in a just manner. Challenges such as policy coherence, consultations and participation by all relevant stakeholders are addressed and lessons learned on these issues are highlighted in the Journal.
