2015 World Day for Safety and Health at Work: Events report

This document outlines the activities that took place around the world on the occasion of the 2015 World Day for Safety and Health at Work. It provides the descriptions of events organized by or with the participation of the ILO, as well as other reported initiatives.

On the occasion of the 2015 World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the ILO called for urgent action to build a culture of prevention on occupational safety and health. Every year a number of events are organized worldwide to celebrate this day. On 28 of April, a panel discussion has been organized at the ILO headquarters to celebrate the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, with the participation of the ILO Deputy Director-General for Policy, Ms Sandra Polaski. Events also took place in 25 different countries around the globe and included different types of activities, such as ceremonies, conferences, exhibitions, workshops, symposia, processions, etc.

In 2003, the ILO began to observe the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, bringing its tripartite strength and social dialogue to the International Commemoration Day for Dead and Injured Workers organized worldwide by the trade union movement since 1996 and coordinated by the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC).
