Orientation Workshop for the participating enterprises of Indian Tea Association

The project, Safety + Health for all plantation workers in South Asia - India Component is collaborating with the Indian Tea Association (ITA) to promote Safety and Health for all plantation workers in the small and big estates of the members of Indian Tea Association in Assam. The ILO is starting this collaboration by conducting an Orientation Workshop for the participating enterprises of Indian Tea Association on 4-5 April 2022, virtually.

Training of Trainers SOLVE: Integrating Health Promotion into Occupational Health and Safety Policy

The programme promotes the design of enterprise level policies and intervention programmes to improve working conditions and reduce work-related stress from an OSH occupational safety and health perspective by incorporating psychosocial hazards into the risk assessment and risk management strategy, involving both employers and workers through bipartite OSH committees at the workplace level.

SOLVE: Integrating Health Promotion into Workplace OSH Policy

The ILO's SOLVE programme is based on recognition of the interdependent relationships in the workplace between psycho-social factors and other health-related behaviours and their underlying causes (work organization, working conditions, labour relations). The programme includes modules on work-related stress; addictive behaviours; violence at work; HIV & AIDS; nutrition and physical activity; healthy rest and sleep; economic stress; and the management and promotion of health in the workplace.

Training of Trainers on Improving Safety and Health in Small and Micro Enterprises

This course aims at strengthening the institutional capacity to improve OSH and working conditions in SMEs and in the workplaces of the informal economy. This course is aimed at: Trainers and technical advisers from government institutions responsible for supporting SMEs on OSH and working conditions; Workers’ and employers’ organizations representatives involved in supporting their members in improving OSH and working conditions; Representatives of non-governmental organizations actively supporting SMEs in OSH and working conditions; Staff of technical cooperation projects supporting SMEs; Consultants, university teachers and researchers working in the fields of OSH and working conditions.

World Day for Safety and Health at Work Commemoration AFRICA WEBINAR

ILO and AUDA-NEPAD will be hosting a 2-hour virtual OSH day commemoration 28th April from 13h00 – 15h00 (CAT). ILO recently revised the World Day for Safety and Health at Work theme from “Violence and Harassment in the World of Work” to “Stop the Pandemic: Safety and Health at Work can Save Lives”, to resonate with the current COVID-19 situation. ILO and AUDA-NEPAD will be hosting a commemoration webinar for Africa under the sub-theme “Saluting Healthcare Workers in the fight against COVID-19” to honour the healthcare workers and their contribution to combating COVID-19.
