    Tackling the Socio-Economic Consequences of COVID-19 on Migrants and their Communities: Why Integration Matters

    The COVID-19 pandemic and the socio-economic downturn it has caused have had disproportionate impacts on migrants, many of whom were stranded without work or social protection in countries of destination, or forced to return to countries of origin where they struggled to reintegrate. However, some countries undertook special measures to ensure that migrants were included in COVID-19 socioeconomic responses, extending protection and addressing the vulnerabilities migrants faced.

    This ILO PROSPECTS report summarizes results of a recently conducted baseline survey of horticulture farmers, workers and wholesalers in Lebanon’s Akkar and Baalbeck-Hermel regions. It serves as a baseline for ILO’s Approach to Inclusive Market Systems (AIMS) component that seeks to unlock opportunities for decent job opportunities in Lebanon’s horticulture sector.

    Integrated labour market assessment in Jigjiga and Kebribeyah - A marketplace in between resilience and integration

    The assessment provides a comprehensive analysis of the supply and demand of employment opportunities, as well as an institutional mapping of the main employment and support services actors in Jigjiga and Kebribeyah. It also provides an in-depth analysis of pathways to local integration and identifies capacity gaps at various levels on the effective response to labour market supply and demand dynamics characteristic of the Fafan region.
