The objective of the assessment is to highlight the immediate effects of COVID-19 on vulnerable workers and their households, particularly on issues related to employment, income, economic conditions, and prospects for the immediate future. In addition, the assessment addresses the effects of the pandemic on small-scale enterprises, including how they are adapting to the challenges that the pandemic presents and the implications for their employees.

In order to assess the impact and identify the ramifications of an increasing number of Syrian refugees (many of whom will be seeking work) the ILO implemented an assessment of their impact and a survey of their employment status in four regions (Akkar, Tripoli, Beqaa, and the South). The objective was to provide a better understanding of the evolving situation of increasing numbers of Syrian refugees.
