2023

  1. The FAIRWAY Programme

    © Photo: Leila Alaoui / ILO, Design: Alexandros Chatzipanagiotou / ILO The FAIRWAY programme addresses underlying causes of decent work deficits at their source through national-level interventions in selected countries of origin in East, West and North Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, and Morocco). In the Arab States, the programme provides continuity to interventions in countries of destination across the region by building on the work of the Fairway Middle East project (2016-2019), which target low-skilled migrant workers from all regions.

  2. Partnership for improving Prospects for host communities and forcibly displaced persons

    1 July 2019 - 30 June 2023

    The Partnership has a four-year initial time horizon (2019-2023). Financially supported by the Netherlands, partners will join their efforts to develop a new paradigm in responding to forced displacement crises.

  1. Employment Intensive Infrastructure Programme in Lebanon (EIIP)

    Creating decent work opportunities for Syrian refugees and host communities through infrastructure improvement in Lebanon.

  2. EU-India Cooperation and Dialogue on Migration and Mobility

    1 September 2017 - 28 February 2022

    The overall objective of the project is to contribute to better governance of migration and mobility between the EU and India. This project is co-funded by the European Union.

  1. Formalizing access to the legal labour market for refugees and host communities in Jordan (Phase II)

    30 September 2018 - 30 September 2021

    This project seeks to support Jordanians and Syrian refugees in accessing decent work in Jordan’s labour market through skills development and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), while also supporting female workers to enter and remain in the formal work force through targeted support. It also supports refugee workers with work permit issuance in selected sectors, including through an ILO-developed web-based platform.

  1. Dignità in campo in Italy

    1 December 2018 - 31 December 2020

    The main aim of the project is to prevent new forms of labour exploitation in the agricultural sector and to promote new practices in social economy through pilot actions in two territories in Italy.

  2. EU-ILO collaboration in the monitoring of labour aspects in the implementation of the EU’s rules of origin initiative for Jordan (Phase II)

    1 December 2018 - 31 December 2020

    The project, in its second phase, implements interventions aimed at supporting the EU-Jordan Agreement on the relaxation of the rules of origin (RoO). The agreement facilitates access of specific Jordanian product categories to the EU market while creating incentives for Jordanian employers to recruit Syrian workers in addition to their Jordanian employees, in order to meet the requirements under the Jordan Compact.

  1. Work in Freedom: Preventing trafficking of women and girls in South Asia and the Middle East

    1 January 2013 - 31 December 2018

    The ILO-DFID “Work in Freedom” programme promotes empowerment and education, fair recruitment, safe migration and decent work for women and girls from South Asia, and thus contribute to the prevention of human trafficking in this region and in the Middle East.

  2. Job creation for Syrian refugees and Jordanian host communities through green works in agriculture and forestry (Phase II)

    1 December 2017 - 30 November 2018

    The project, in its second phase, will be implemented with the Ministry of Agriculture, to boost decent jobs through green works and labour-intensive employment in agriculture and forestry.

    Enhancing the capacity of the Workers’ Center to respond to the needs of migrant workers
