    The ILO TRIANGLE in ASEAN is a partnership between the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Global Affairs Canada (GAC), and the International Labour Organization (ILO). TRIANGLE in ASEAN delivers technical assistance and support with the overall goal of maximizing the contribution of labour migration to equitable, inclusive and stable growth in ASEAN.

  1. Safe and Fair: Realizing women migrant workers’ rights and opportunities in the ASEAN region

    1 January 2018 - 31 December 2022

    The project is part of the EU-UN Spotlight Initiative to eliminate violence against women and girls, a global, multi-year initiative between the European Union and United Nations. Safe and Fair is implemented through a partnership between the ILO and UN Women, in collaboration with UNODC, with the overriding objective of ensuring that labour migration is safe and fair for all women in the ASEAN region.

    The project seeks to promote the human and labour rights of migrant domestic workers worldwide by addressing the challenges that make migrant domestic workers particularly vulnerable to the risks of exploitation and abuse.

  1. Migrant Workers Organizing through Cooperation with Trade Unions

    1 September 2014 - 1 September 2015

    The project’s central objective is to protect the rights of migrant workers through organizing, empowerment activities, enhanced cooperation and trade union support in countries of origin (Myanmar, Indonesia, and Nepal) and destination (Malaysia and Thailand).

  2. Tripartite Action to Protect Migrant Workers within and from the Greater Mekong Subregion from Labour Exploitation (GMS TRIANGLE project)

    10 June 2010 - 31 May 2015

    The GMS TRIANGLE project focused on reducing the exploitation of labour migrants by contributing to the development of legal and safe recruitment channels and improved labour protection mechanisms. It is currently continued through TRIANGLE in ASEAN programme.
