  1. Enhanced recognition of skills and reduced vulnerability of Sri Lankan construction workers in selected GCC countries – U.A.E. and Kuwait (IOM-ILO collaboration)

    This project is a sub component of IOM (International Organization for Migration), project on “‘Strengthening Labour Migration Governance across Colombo Process Member States’” funded by SDC and operates in the framework of the Abu Dhabi Dialogue, Colombo Process and the general approach of the UAE skills pilot.

  2. Work in Freedom: Preventing trafficking of women and girls in South Asia and the Middle East

    1 January 2013 - 31 December 2018

    The ILO-DFID “Work in Freedom” programme promotes empowerment and education, fair recruitment, safe migration and decent work for women and girls from South Asia, and thus contribute to the prevention of human trafficking in this region and in the Middle East.

    Improved Labour Migration Governance Programme

    1 April 2015 - 28 February 2018

    The ILO is working with the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation to strengthen governance of foreign labour by building capacity in labour market policy making, improving inspection systems as well as implementing mechanisms for dispute resolution.

  1. Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers and their Families

    The project seeks to promote the human and labour rights of migrant domestic workers worldwide by addressing the challenges that make migrant domestic workers particularly vulnerable to the risks of exploitation and abuse.
