Partnership for improving prospects for forcibly displaced persons and host communities

Financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, five Partners join efforts to develop a new paradigm in responding to forced displacement crises, particularly through the involvement of development actors. The Partnership hopes to transform the way governments and other stakeholders, including the social partners and the private sector, respond to forced displacement crises, by fostering an enabling environment for socio-economic inclusion; improving access to education and protection for vulnerable children on the move; and strengthening the resilience of host communities.

Syrian garment worker in Jordan continues to support her family during pandemic

A year ago, Batoul, Syrian refugee in Jordan found work at a garment factory through an ILO-supported employment centre. The factory was forced to close temporarily during the pandemic. Even so, Batoul continued to receive a salary which she uses to provide for her young daughter, who has a spinal condition.

World Day Against Child Labour sheds light on working children in Jordan’s agricultural sector

This year’s celebration of World Day Against Child Labour promotes the theme, “Children Should Work on their Dreams, not in the Fields!” Child Labour is a key concern in Jordan’s agricultural sector, where 82 per cent of farmers recently surveyed by the ILO indicated that children under the age of 15 were working in their operation.
