  1. Workshop on Migrant Domestic Workers' Policy (MDWs) and Trade Union Actions in Nepal

    24 - 25 February 2016

    The workshop aims to discuss on existing policies, international practices and gaps in polices and laws to protect migrant domestic workers (MDW). This is organized within the framework of the ILO’s Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers and their Families (GAP-MDW), Geneva.

  1. Mission on the ILO Project “Integrated Programme on Fair Recruitment (FAIR)”

    10 - 15 January 2016

    Ms Helene Harroff-Tavel, Ms Alix Nasri and Mr Guy Tchami from ILO Geneva will conduct a mission in the Philippines to meet with relevant stakeholders for ILO’s new labour migration project. The six-day mission will include consultations with Philippine government agencies, trade unions, employers organizations, civil society organizations, cooperatives and media agencies in order to introduce the project’s Philippine components and collect inputs regarding the project design and strategy.

  2. ILO and UGTT meeting on unionization of migrant workers in Tunisia

    The meeting presented an opportunity to discuss the FAIR project’s strategic axes related to the labour movement in Tunisia.

  3. Tripartite Meeting on Fair Recruitment in Tunisia

    5 January 2016

    The meeting focused on validating the terms of references of an upcoming ILO diagnostic study on fair recruitment processes in Tunisia.

    A National Consultation Seminar was held in Nepal on December 1, 2015, and brought together more than 40 policymakers, government officials and experts to discuss various aspects of the role of migrant workers in Nepal, in the context of the "Assessing the economic contribution of labour migration in developing countries as countries of destination" (ECLM) project.   1. 13th African Regional Meeting

    The proposed agenda of the Meeting is to discuss progress made by the countries in the region towards achieving the targets set by the Decent Work Agenda in Africa, 2007-15, adopted by the 11th African Regional Meeting, as well as to set out future priority actions for the region to achieve the Decent Work Agenda in Africa.
