The greening of economies, enterprises and jobs must be seen in the context of sustainable development. The Guidelines for a just transition towards environmentally sustainable economies and societies for all adopted by the ILO Governing Body (ILO 2015) provide practical orientation to Governments and social partners on how to formulate, implement and monitor a just transition policy framework in accordance with national circumstances and priorities.
