12th Academy on Social and Solidarity Economy - Elective 1: Promoting fundamental principles and rights at work in the SSE

The electives of the SSE Academy were designed for practitioners from around the world to share and discuss practices, ideas and models for SSE action in specific fields. The first elective 1 took place on 16, 17 and 18 November 2021. It focused on the promotion of fundamental principles and rights at work in the Social and Solidarity Economy. It was available for participants in English, French and Spanish.

Action to combat trafficking in human beings for the purpose of labour exploitation: Identification and protection of victims
The conference will provide an overview of the results of the “FREED” Project, present the studies on trafficking for labour exploitation and forced labour in Italy and Poland, present the national versions of the handbook for labour inspectors and discuss their application on actual cases, discuss transnational cooperation mechanisms between labour inspectors and law enforcement agencies in source and destination countries, and share ideas about future steps towards an effective response to forced labour and labour exploitation.

Seminar for Labour inspectors on Forced Labour and Human Trafficking
The ILO and the General Labour Inspectorate Portugal (ACT) are jointly organising a seminar for Portuguese labour inspectors on investigating forced labour in Lisbon on 2-3 February 2009. The workshop will bring together 30 Portuguese labour inspectors from regional branches international experts. The objectives of the seminar are to share experience in the fields of investigating forced labour, identification of victims of trafficking for forced labour and cooperation between law enforcement agencies, to test training modules of the ILO handbook on human trafficking and forced labour for labour inspectors in working groups, and to discuss and develop recommendations for the adaptation of the to the national context in Portugal.
