International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition reminds us that many women end up being trapped in abusive work situations which in some cases may amount to modern forms of slavery.

A new web platform aimed at migrant workers lists user reviews of recruitment agencies. By helping migrants avoid falling for false promises, the website is an important tool to promote fair recruitment.

Building Capacity for Migrant Workers’ Access to Just Compensation, Post-Return

The Integrated Programe on Fair Recruitment (FAIR project) will conduct a training workshop “Building Capacity for Migrant Workers’ Access to Just Compensation, Post-Return” to help develop the capacities of the caseworkers of Sentro ng mga Nagkakaisa at Progresibong Manggagawa (SENTRO) to identify, develop and, with the help of partners abroad, seek damages on behalf of migrant workers who have been exploited, trafficked or injured in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Hong Kong SAR).
