  1. 12th Academy on Social and Solidarity Economy - Elective 1: Promoting fundamental principles and rights at work in the SSE

    The electives of the SSE Academy were designed for practitioners from around the world to share and discuss practices, ideas and models for SSE action in specific fields. The first elective 1 took place on 16, 17 and 18 November 2021. It focused on the promotion of fundamental principles and rights at work in the Social and Solidarity Economy. It was available for participants in English, French and Spanish.

    Launched in 2005, the National Pact for the Eradication of Slave labour is celebrating its 5 years of existence. The international seminar will gather the signatories of the Pact to assess the enforcement of the Pact, present the results of the monitoring process, and discuss the situation of supply chains facing the issue, and will also present good practices of employers against contemporary slavery.

  1. US Trafficking in persons report 2009: Financial crisis feeds human trade

    The congressionally mandated report provides data from 175 countries about the level of human trafficking occurring within their borders. The report cites the International Labour Organization estimate that at least 12.3 million adults and children are victims of forced labour, bonded labour and sex slavery annually

  1. Identifying Good Practices for Producers/Purchasers to Reduce the Use of Child or Forced Labor

    The workshop is part of a National Research Council (NRC) study sponsored by the Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB) of the Department of Labor. Participants will discuss the elements of a possible framework for identifying and organizing a standard set of practices that will reduce the likelihood that persons will use forced labor or child labor to produce goods, with a focus on business and governmental practices.
