United Nations resolution to improve the coordination of efforts against trafficking in persons

On 26 March 2010, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted a resolution on "Improving the coordination of efforts against trafficking" in persons

In the resolution, the General Assembly recognizes the important role of the United Nations entities, including the ILO, and acknowledge the important work done by the ILO in terms of data collection and analysis. It calls upon Governments to continue their efforts to criminalize trafficking in persons and encourages all stakeholders, including the private sector, to strengthen the coordination of efforts.
