    This presentation was prepared by the ILO for the 1st G7 Employment Task Force meeting under the German presidency. It aims to provide clarity regarding the different concept definitions of green jobs, green economy and just transition that are being used across different G7 countries and different organisations. It distinguished between statistical and policy definitions, and focuses on the ILO Guidelines for a Just Transition towards environmentally sustainable economies and societies for all.

    Making climate change socially just

    This presentation was jointly prepared by the ILO and the OECD for the 1st G7 Employment Task Force meeting under the German presidency. It highlights the role of social protection in making climate change socially just, as it can address some negative effects of climate change, as well as the intended and unintended consequences of climate change response measures. After drawing on some country experiences, it gives policy considerations for G7 countries regarding how to ensure a socially just transition.

The presentation is based on the paper identifying the key challenges and opportunities for employment and social policies of the 3Ds. It starts by highlighting the key issues arising from each of the 3Ds separately and then discusses the issues arising from the interactions of these closely intertwined trends.

    The EIIP Digital collection now available publicly

    The EIIP has been working with the ILO Library to establish a separate EIIP collection within the overall ILO Digital Collection of publications. This collection is now publicly available and provides a permanent repository of EIIP publication and will be kept updated. It includes all EIIP related publications which have been published by the ILO or for which the copyright rests with the ILO.
