ILO and CCDP to mark Geneva Peace Week

News | 17 November 2015
As a member of the advisory board of the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform, the ILO will participate in the 2015 Geneva Peace week to share results of its on-going research collaboration with the Graduate Institute's Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding.

The event entitled “A Fragility Compass to Orient Employment and Decent Work Projects” will propose a model to explore how endogenous and exogenous drivers of fragility relate to the world of work. Speakers and panellists include Habib Ur Rehman Mayar Habib (Deputy General Secretary of the g7+ secretariat), Tine Staermose (Special Adviser on Labour Market Institutions and Governance, Office of the Deputy Director-General for Policy of the ILO) and Oliver Jütersonke (Head of Research of the CCDP). The event will be moderated by Donato Kiniger-Passigli (Fragile States and Disaster Response Coordinator of the ILO).

The event will be held on Thursday, 19 November 2015, 10:30-12:00 at the Masion de la Paix, Chemin Eugène-Rigot 2, Geneva in Auditorium Ivan Pictet and will be followed by a standing buffet.

The 2015 Geneva Peace Week will be held from 16 to 20 November under the patronage of the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform. By synchronizing meetings on different topics related to the promotion of peace during one week, Geneva Peace Week will maximize synergies between organizations in Geneva, focused on the cross-cutting nature of peace.
