  1. MRC Roll-out Workshop

    Workshop to Roll-out the Migrant Worker Resource Center (MRC) Operation Manual to Employment Service Centers (ESC) for the Central Provinces in Viet Nam

    With the aim of replication the MRCs module and introducing MRC Operations Manual, the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs with the support from the GMS TRIANGLE project and World Vision organize a series of workshops to roll-out the MRCs for all ESCs in Viet Nam. Three workshops are organized in the north, the central and the south of Viet Nam to involve participants from Department of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs and ESCs of all 63 provinces throughout Viet Nam.

    Orientation and Sharing Workshop: Effective Employment Services in Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Biratnagar

    The three Workshops are held in the Mid, Western and Eastern Regions of Nepal; Nepalgunj on 25 January 2016, Dhangadhi on 28 January 2016 and Biratnagar on 3 February 2016. The workshops aims to share the information about the project, experiences, lessons learnt and best practices on Labour Market Information (LMI), employment services by KOICA and ILO and create environment for a better understanding of modality, structure and scope of the project within the region.

    Orientation and Sharing Workshop: Effective Employment Services

    The ILO, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Department of Labour (DoL) jointly organized workshop at Butwal on 26 November, 2015 with local coordination by Employment Service Centre, Butwal and Korea Nepal Institute of Technology (KNIT), Butwal to improve the access of Nepalese jobseekers to quality employment services.

    Orientation on employment services and labour market information for Lao People's Democratic Republic officials

    The ILO/China South-South Cooperation Project in collaboration with Lao PDR’s Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare organized a two-day Orientation on Employment Services and Labour Market Information for its Employment Services Job Centre staff, including senior officials of the Department of Labour and Social Welfare stationed in provinces of Borikhamxay, Champasack Khammoun, Louangprabang, Oudomxay, Savannakhet, Xayyaboury and Vientiane.

    The District Public Employment Services Centre Launched in Mannar to resolve youth unemployment issues

    Under the chairmanship of Mr. M. Y. S. Deshapriya, District Secretary, Mannar, the District Public Employment Services (PES) Center of Mannar District was declared open by Mr. Willem Verpoest, First Counsellor, Head of Contracts, Finances and Audits Section, European Union Delegation for Sri Lanka and Maldives and Mr. H. G. G. J. Dharmasena, Director General, Department of Manpower and Employment at the Mannar District Secretariat on 30th September 2015.

    ILO and MoLE/DoL sign MoU to improve Employment Services in Nepal

    An impetus on improving the access to basic quality employment services that helps Nepalese job seekers especially the youth is underway following the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE), Department of Labour (DoL), Nepal and International Labour Organization on 9 July, 2015.

    The District Public Employment Services (PES) Center of Vavuniya District was declared open by Mr. Herath Yapa, Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Mr. Donglin Li, Country Director, ILO Office for Sri Lanka and the Maldives at the District Secretariat on 11th June 2013.
