The Social Economy Europe and the UN Taskforce on Social and Solidarity Economy event will take place on Thursday 29 April, from 13:30 to 15:00 CEST in the framework of the European Social Economy Summit (#EUSES) on the day dedicated to Partnerships for maximising social impact.

This session will examine the transformative role that the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) plays advancing the sustainable development goals (SDGs). It will also highlight the urgency to unlock its potential to tackle today’s structural economic, social and environmental crises. Policy recommendations will be discussed during the session to feed into international debate and the European Action Plan for the Social Economy.

The panel discussion will reflect on different key aspects characterizing SSE as key actors in the transition towards the UN 2030 Agenda  and a better recovery including:
  • Cooperative entrepreneurship, decent work & reindustrialisation;
  • Green and just transition;
  • Fight against poverty and the promotion of peace;
  • Partnership and multi-stakeholder approach.
The session will benefit from the experience of speakers coming from international organizations and global SSE institutions, who will provide reference to specific SDGs and will bring an international perspective into the debate. They will build on their experiences of public-private partnerships toward advancing the SDGs.
