  2. Dignità in campo in Italy

    The main aim of the project is to prevent new forms of labour exploitation in the agricultural sector and to promote new practices in social economy through pilot actions in two territories in Italy.

  3. The ILO and the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP25

    The twenty-fifth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP25) organized by Chile, will be held in Madrid on 2-13 December 2019. The ILO will bring to the table the importance of the social and political drivers for a successful and rapid transition into more respectful economies, and will also be presenting the 'Climate Action for Jobs Initiative' an action plan resulted from the Climate Action Summit 2019.

  4. ILO organizes training of trainers on the cooperative business model towards increasing economic opportunities in the fishery sector in Mauritania

    The ToT workshop was conducted to strengthen the capacity of local institutions to support the organization of fishermen groups including cooperatives and other businesses for value-creation and marketing of fish products.

  5. Strengthening cooperatives in Jordan to improve livelihoods and advance decent work for Jordanian workers and Syrian refugees

    Drawing on the earlier work and pilot interventions, the ILO will further strengthen cooperatives in Jordan within the framework of a new Dutch-funded project on advancing decent work for Jordanian workers and Syrian refugees in the agriculture sector.

  6. The ILO and the United Nations Climate Change Conference - COP24

    The twenty-four session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP24) will be held in Katowice, Poland on 2-14 December 2018. As an observer organization, the ILO seeks to contribute to global negotiations and national actions against climate change, while promoting opportunities for decent work creation and ensuring a just transition for all.

  7. A study on skills in demand in the construction, domestic work and hospitality sectors in selected GCC countries vis-a-vis skills, qualification and accreditation of low- and semi skilled migrant workers from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan

    The study will consist of two separate, but linked components connecting three countries of destination in GCC (to be confirmed) and origin (Nepal, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh).

  8. Preparatory research project on the involvement of migrant workers and their families in the social and solidarity economy in Kyrgyzstan, Republic of Korea, and Viet Nam

    Migrant workers and returning migrants are increasingly turning to cooperatives and other social and solidarity economy (SSE) enterprises to ensure they have full access to the development benefits of labour migration. In light of these trends, the ILO's Labour Migration Branch (MIGRANT) and the ILO's Cooperatives unit (COOP) have been collaborating on an effort to improve understanding and policies benefiting access of migrant workers to cooperatives and other forms of SSE enterprises that can enhance livelihoods, social protection and economic development in the context of migrants' return and reintegration.
