    This brief is part of the Transforming our world: A cooperative 2030 series produced by the Committee for the Promotion and Advancement of Cooperatives (COPAC). Through a series of 17 briefs, one for each Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), COPAC hopes to raise awareness about the significant contributions of cooperative enterprises towards achieving the 2030 Agenda in a sustainable, inclusive and responsible way, and encourage continued support for their efforts. This brief in the series focuses on SDG 4 - ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.

  4. Interview with Ramin Behzad, member of COPAC Technical Working Group on Statistics of Cooperatives

    The ILO has joined forces with other members of the Committee for the Promotion and Advancement of Cooperatives (COPAC) to improve statistics on cooperatives. They are working towards developing guidelines on the measurement of cooperatives to be presented at the 20th International Conference of Labour Statisticians (ICLS) in October 2018. ILO COOP interviewed Mr Ramin Behzad, member of COPAC Technical Working Group on Statistics of Cooperatives, on the importance, the challenges and the outlook of its work.

  6. Use of statistics on cooperatives in national policy making

    This report on the “Use of statistics on cooperatives in national policy making”, prepared by Dr. Johnston Birchall, is the latest addition to the work in advancing understanding on statistics on cooperatives and their use in national policy documents and processes. The report focuses on the user perspective, looking to the ways in which these statistics on cooperatives are used in the eight countries studied. It provides an unprecedented view on the different ways in which statistics on cooperatives can be used at the country level by different types of users. It also puts forward a set of recommendations to international organizations such as the ILO to further increase their engagement with their constituents and partners at the national level.
