The ILO projects “MAP16: Measurement, awareness-raising and policy engagement to accelerate action against child labour and forced labour” and “RTA: From Research to Action: Using Knowledge to Accelerate Progress in the Elimination of Child Labor and Forced Labor", funded by the United States Department of Labor, have established a group of experts, an International Advisory Board (IAB), to provide guidance to key research activities to address child labour, forced labour, and human trafficking issues.

The IAB consists of technical experts from the ILO, international organizations, workers’ and employers’ organizations, USDOL, Alliance 8.7 Pathfinder countries, national statistical offices, INGOs, and the research community. It operates through five thematic working groups:
  1. Global and National Research Agendas on Child Labour and Forced Labour;
  2. Child Labour Questionnaires;
  3. Forced Labour Questionnaires;
  4. Sampling Strategies for Surveys on Child Labour and Forced Labour, and
  5. Ethical Considerations for Research on Child Labour and Forced Labour.
The IAB is a unique platform for research cooperation and dialogue on child labour and forced labour issues. The project teams would like to thank the IAB for their valuable time and technical guidance.
