Standards Review Mechanism Tripartite Working Group (SRM TWG)

Fifth meeting of the SRM TWG (September 2019)

As decided by the Governing Body at its 334th Session in October-November 2018, the fifth meeting of the SRM TWG will take place at the ILO in Geneva from 23 to 27 September 2019. During this meeting the SRM TWG will review and examine seven instruments related to employment policy. It will also examine the follow-up to be taken to a further outdated instrument falling within those subject areas that had been examined for the first time by the SRM TWG at its second meeting in October 2016.

Preparatory documents

A series of preparatory documents will facilitate discussions at this meeting. The first group of documents concern the SRM TWG’s review of the seven instruments concerning employment policy, and the examination of the follow-up to the one outdated instrument falling within that subject area. The second group are supporting documents. A third group of documents include two working papers with institutional implications. In addition, two reference documents are in preparation at the SRM TWG’s request.

Government information session

On 19 August 2019, the Office held an information session for governments. The purpose of this meeting was to share information on the SRM TWG’s fifth meeting and in particular to introduce the documents prepared by the Office to facilitate the work of the tripartite working group. The session was live-broadcast in three languages: a video recording of the session is available here in English, here in French and here in Spanish.
