Call for Expression of Interest: Contractors to be trained in ILO’s Employment Intensive Infrastructure Programme (EIIP)

The ILO in close collaboration with UNHCR and Office of the Prime Minister (Department for Refugees), invites locally based contractors in Arua, Madi-Okollo, Terego and Isingiro (including those in Nakivale, Rhino, and Imvepi) which are legally registered as companies, groups or societies and willing to undergo a tailor-made training program in the construction/rehabilitation of multi-purpose community centres and public infrastructure maintenance using Employment-Intensive methods to express interest.

At least Five (5) contracting firms from each refugee hosting district (Arua, Madi-Okollo, Terego and Isingiro) will be selected and invited for training, which is scheduled to commence in September 2021. Each firm shall send for training three staff comprising one Director or Team Leader and two Supervisors. A firm that includes a female employee/representative and or refugee employee/representative will receive additional points for the selection. The duration of training for the successful applicants will be one week for Team Leaders/Directors and three weeks for Supervisors. Contractors or Organizations whose personnel all complete this first phase of training will be considered for the award of trial contracts for rehabilitation of the identified infrastructure at fixed unit rates. A Certificate will be issued to each person that successfully completes the training course, including the trial contract.
