    As part of ILO efforts to support communities in Jordan most affected by the Syrian refugee crisis, it joins forces with local partners in Irbid to host a three-day festival promoting the vital olive industry in northern Jordan.

  8. Training course on child labour in agriculture: “Harvesting a future without child labour: Eliminating harmful practices in agriculture”

    This one-week course takes a broad view on child labour in agriculture with an emphasis on the policy options to eliminate this practice and promote safer and more sustainable production processes. Participants will have gained knowledge on child labour in agriculture, including fisheries and aquaculture, forestry and livestock rearing, and on the strategies for mainstreaming child labour issues into rural development programs, policies and activities. The course will also address occupational safety and health (OSH) issues specific to child labour in agriculture and participants will learn how to carry out and implement an OSH risk assessment.     Global March Against Child Labour as a part of its strategic targeting of agriculture as a priority is organizing an International Conference on Child Labour in Agriculture.
