Cost of recruitment in the Indonesia–Malaysia migration corridor: Employer perspectives from participating plantation companies
This study looks into the recruitment costs borne by select companies that employ migrant workers in Malaysian palm oil plantations. It examines the companies’ roles and the processes involved in the recruitment of migrant workers; identifies the costs borne by these companies; and identifies good practices and areas for improvement.

Workshop: Agricultural and climate risk insurance in Indonesia
On 24 November, Social Finance facilitated a workshop on agricultural and climate risk insurance in Indonesia, organized as part of our partnership with IFAD's Insurance for Rural Resilience and Economic Development Programme (INSURED) and in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of National Development and Planning (Bappenas). The workshop shared lessons learned on both the demand and supply side, success factors and opportunities for improvement for climate and agricultural risk management in the country. It included insights from the Ministry of Agriculture and Bappenas and key findings and recommendations from the INSURED activities.

This ILO project, funded by the US Department of Labor (US DOL), aims to improve the promotion and compliance to labour laws, occupational safety and health, and gender equality in the rural sectors in the Philippines and Indonesia, with a focus on women workers.

This desk review was conducted by ILO/AIDS as part of the Inter-Agency Task Team on HIV workplace policies/programmes and private sector engagement (IATT/WPPS). It is based primarily on the research documents shared by the IATT members, covering vulnerability studies, stigma and discrimination studies, impact and cost-benefit studies.

Mentawai Islands Livelihoods Recovery Programme
The programme aims at supporting the recovery of the productive economy in communities affected by the 2010 earthquake and tsunami through supporting recovery of the agriculture and fisheries sectors, facilitating development of the agricultural and fishery value chain and supporting strategic planning on basic service provision, including water and sanitation.
