Brochure

Labour rights in the fishing and seafood processing sectors

This brochure provides information about the key labour rights and social protections for migrant workers in Thailand’s fishing and seafood processing sectors.

Migrant workers in Thailand’s fishing and seafood processing sectors are entitled to coverage by labour rights and social protections under Thailand’s labour laws. The International Labour Organization developed this brochure to promote awareness among migrant workers of their labour rights and how to access assistance for violations. The brochure provides practical and sector-specific information for migrant workers, including the contact details for government, trade union and civil society organizations where they can seek help during their employment in Thailand.

This brochure is produced by Ship to Shore Rights South East Asia programme, a multi-country, multi-annual initiative of the European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN), implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in collaboration with International Organization for Migration (IOM) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Its overriding objective is to promote safe labour migration and decent work for all migrant workers in South East Asia, particularly in the fishing and seafood processing sectors.
