Improving occupational safety and health in the coffee supply chain. A toolkit for action
A compilation of tools, methodologies and research for reducing occupational accidents and diseases.
This toolkit brings together valuable tools to improve occupational safety and health (OSH) in the coffee supply chain. It provides a comprehensive overview of the scope and usefulness of each of its instruments.
The ILO, through the Vision Zero Fund, developed the first Toolkit on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) for the global coffee supply chain, with instruments developed and applied in Latin America. Its 20 innovative tools were created due to tripartite social dialogue processes in Colombia, Mexico, Honduras and Laos.
The tools are aimed at all actors in the coffee chain (from small producers to large buyers) and cover three central themes:
1. Risks in OSH management
2. Prevention and mitigation of COVID-19
3. General knowledge of OSH
According to their typology, the tools are oriented towards awareness, evaluation, capacity building, and orientation.
