Sudan’s ratification of the ILO Protocol on Forced Labour and Conventions on freedom of association and social dialogue, was marked in a virtual ceremony with the ILO Director-General, Guy Ryder.

50 for Freedom forced labour campaign reaches landmark target

Fifty countries have shown their commitment to eradicate contemporary forms of slavery by ratifying the ILO Forced Labour Protocol (P.29). The ratifications have met an initial target set by the 50 for Freedom campaign, which urges governments to take action on forced labour. Sudan became the fiftieth country to ratify.

Landmark Forced Labour Protocol enters into force

The ILO Forced Labour Protocol, which was adopted by the International Labour Conference in 2014, enters into force on 9th November, a year after it gained its second ratification.
