New ILO figures on global pay distribution reveal pervasive inequality

Media advisory | 02 July 2019
GENEVA (ILO News) – A new assessment of labour-generated income and inequality will be launched on Thursday 4 July by the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The new information gives the first global estimates of the distribution of labour income and shows that pay inequality remains pervasive in the world of work. The findings are drawn from a new database which includes national, regional and global data.

The Global Labour Income Share and Distribution, uses a new ILO dataset that gives the first internationally comparable figures on the share of national income going to workers and the distribution of labour income at national, regional and global levels.
