ILO to launch World Social Protection Report 2017-2019

New ILO flagship report looks at progress in the extension of social protection around the world.

GENEVA (ILO News) – The International Labour Organization (ILO) is to issue its World Social Protection Report 2017/19: Universal social protection to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The new flagship report looks at the state of social protection globally, providing global and regional findings. It also cover specific aspects such as – among others - social protection for children, women and men of working age, older men and women and universal health coverage.

The report, along with other public information material, will be under embargo until Wednesday, 29 November 2017 at 21:00 GMT (22:00 CET). An advance electronic copy of the report will be available upon request to journalists from Wednesday, 29 November in the morning, by contacting the ILO Department of Communication at newsroom@ilo.org.

For correspondents registered with UNOG in Geneva: a press briefing, under embargo, will be held with ILO Director-General Guy Ryder in Press room 3 at the Palais des Nations on 29 November at 10:00 am. The embargoed report will be sent to them automatically as soon as it becomes available.
